We helped a water utility with strategic organisational capability development

Mission

Our client provides water supply and sewage treatment services in Australia. Their mission is to provide customers with a high-quality, safe and reliable water and sewerage service that is economically and environmentally sustainable.

We were engaged by the Chief People Officer to create a new organisational capability framework. Our work unified five legacy competency frameworks into a single framework that was applied across the business. The new competency model covered the behavioural, leadership and role capabilities required across 26 distinct job families.

In addition to the framework, this engagement also delivered an employee-facing handbook used for onboarding and ongoing performance conversations.

Engagement highlights
  • Worked with the executive team to determine 3-5 year organisational capability requirements
  • Conducted a current state organisational capability assessment
  • Created a unified capability model from 5 disparate legacy frameworks
  • Crafted behaviour, leadership and role capability requirements across 26 job families
